JJJ has recently published a book entitled ""Triple J's Internet Music Guide"". The book contains descriptions and ratings over hundreds of internet sites of both Australian and International bands. Hotel-Motel Jebediah is one of only two Jebediah sites to be placed in the book. Remeber how all your favourite live songs change after they've been recorded? Well Jebediah are offering Perth fans their last chance to hear a collection of material ""pre-record number 2"". Jebediah do one show. On Sunday the 7th of March at the Grosvenor Hotel Backroom. The show is the last before the band head into the studio to record the follow up to Slightly Odway, they do not expect to play in Australia again until July. Special Guests on the show will be announced soon. Tickets will only be on sale on the door, which open at 6pm. Ticket price to be advised."

Well Jebediah certainly didn't disappoint. All 4 of their nomionated songs entered the top 100, and they also posted their highest ranking ever (beating Leaving Home's no. 10 position last year). The results were: Benedict (91), Harpoon by SFK (85), Teflon (42) and Harpoon (7). The complete list can be found at Triple J's website."

04-07-1999 00:00:00 :: New Album Details
17/6/99: Jebediah started recording their album at the end of March and finished in record time. The recording took place at Sing, Sing studios in Melbourne with producer Mark Trombino who's credentials include Knapsack, Rocket from the Crypt and Blink 182 (Dude Ranch). Mastering will take place in the next 2 weeks. A single will be released on August 9th followed by the album sometime in October. Video and still images direct from the studios will hit this page in the next week or so.

In a special agreement with Sony and Jebediah's management, the releases from the album (including the new single) will be debuted here before even the radio gets the chance to give them a spin. Details are not confirmed yet but samples of the single should be up a week or two before radio and a good month before store release and album samples should be up (in the form of a daily changing ""song of the day"") within the same sort of time frame.

Another song recorded in the sessions was ""Hungry Like The Wolf"" a Duran Duran cover for the upcoming tribute album that also features Regurgitator, The Living End, Powderfinger and the Kylie Minogue / Ben Lee duet, ""The Reflex"".

The working title for the new album is ""Shit Sandwhich"" this ""probably, definately"" will change before release."

26/6/99: Canada here we come! Jebediah will be flying off for Canada for a shot at international fame. The feedback I have received shows positive attitudes already. The tour will commence on the 9th of July in and around Canada and then New Zealand on the way home. Tour dates section contains a final itinerary. Hopefully we will be getting some ""tour diary"" sort of thing happening from someone in the Jeb camp. Then a national Australian tour will commence and this time Jebediah are dragging along Garageland (yay!) and Sugarchild. Tickets available in the coming weeks from the usual outlets."

The single, ""Animal"" will include 2 b-sides (Less Trusted Pain Remover and Supposed to Say) as well as a CD-Xtra that contains a live clip of Animal filmed at the recent Lookout gig in Scarborough! 4/7/99: As Perthites probably already know, July means that this year's WA Music Industry Awards/Festival, the Kiss My Wami's, are fastly approaching. Voting forms have been published in local music press and the website is up and functioning. This year sees over 80 gigs taking place across metro and rural areas, kicking off on Wednesday, July 21st. Due to other tour committments it doesn't look as if Jebediah will be performing this year, but they have been nominated for a few awards. Harpoon has been nominated for ""Most Popular Original Local Music Video"" and Vanessa has been nominated for ""Most Popular Female Original Bass Player"". In other categories Rob Grant (he helped record the b-sides on Jerks of Attention) has been nominated for ""Best Sound Recording Engineer"" and ""Best Record Producer"". As with every other year, a limited edition CD Compilation will be sold with the ""season pass"" tickets. Jebediah will not feature on this years compilation. The festivities close with one last jaunt at the Newport Hotel on Sunday, August 1st."

16/8/99: Animal was released in stores today, go out and get yourself a copy!!! Jebediah have been busy at home filming a video clip for the radio favourite. The live vid that has been seen on Rage recently will appear on the single as a CD-Xtra component and will be replaced on TV by this new one in time for the single release. The new vid was shot around Leederville and Fremantle (WA) and is apparently very cool.

21/8/99: A new Recovery CD Compilation entitled ""Ready for Transmission"" was released on August 16th. It contains another live track by Jebediah (Harpoon), other bands you can find on the compilation include You Am I, The Living End, Eskimo Joe, Regurgitator, The Whitlams, The Superjesus, Arkana, Custard and more. In other compilation news Jebediah is featured on the Juice (Magazine) compilation ""The Future of Music"", the song is Trapdoor and a photo of them is on the cover of the CD as well as in this month's Juice magazine with an interview/article."

30/8/99: A vinyl version of Animal will be released next week. The b-side will be the song that up until now has not appeared on an official Jebediah release (it was on the Occassional Course Language Soundtrack): ""Simple"". The two that appeared on the CD version of the single (""Supposed to Say"" and ""The Less Trusted Pain Remover"") will not make an appearance. In more TV appearances, Jebediah should be on Recovery this coming Saturday. An interview was recorded while they were in Melbourne."

23/8/99: Jebediah's latest single has just entered the charts and is breaking records all over. In Triple J's Net 50 'Animal' debuted at number 5, the second highest debut in the charts history. In the national ARIA singles chart the release got to 16th, Jebediah's highest placing single ever (number 35 was previous best position)! In the Australiasian top 20 Animal is number 3. In Perth, 78 Records sales indicicate Animal is the most popular selling local release this week. In other news the release of ""Of Someday Shambles"" has been delayed till the 1st of November. A second international tour will commence after the Australian album tour, with dates being added to this site in the next couple of days. The tour will take in Canada, New Zealand and Japan. Jebediah will also appear on this weekends Mick Molloy show (Saturday night, Channel 9), which should be very funny indeed!"

25/11/99: Jebediah have been confirmed for 2000's run of Big Day Out shows across Australia. They join Foo Fighters (new announcement!), Spiderbait, Nine Inch Nails and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, among others. As well as the upcoming Homebake shows, Jebediah will be doing a few dates in support of the newly launched ""Feet Touch the Ground"" single with Motor Ace and Violetine. Followed by a tour of New Zealand with Spiderbait. The dates are in the tour section. Also tonight juice.net is hosting an IRC chat on the subject of Jebediah tonight. With certain other festivals releasing CD compilations, it was an obvious step for the Big Day Out to do the same. A double CD set is out now featuring most of the bands from the Y2K lineup. Jebediah are thus featured. In site news, this will probably be the final update to this page until the new year. The artwork was created by long term Jebediah cover art designer Ben Steele who is also helping me with the redesign of this site (hence the length of the news page at the moment!)."

7/10/99: Jebediah will be playing in the Perth ""Rock it"" festival. The action will take place at Arena Joondalup between 2 and 10pm, Sunday December 5th. The confirmed lineup so far also includes Powderfinger, Silverchair, Killing Heidi and Test Eagles as well as local favourites Beaverloop. Tickets go on sale Monday October 11th from the usual outlets at the ""Australian price"" of $35 plus booking fee. In other tour news Jebediah will team up with locals Red Jezebel in the Wheatbelt Youth Festival and Careers Expo next Friday, October 15th when they headline a concert at the Merredin Recreation Ground. All ages and side-show attractions will cost $15.19/9/99: That's right, Jebediah have just been confirmed to be playing at BOTH this years Homebake festivals (Gold Coast and Sydney).
