06-01-2005 02:33:45 :: Good Evening Ladeeez n Gems
How are we all? It&rsquos been a wierd week or two huh? Our hearts go out to those people caught up in the events in SE Asia, to those who have lost everything or loved ones, whatever your race, creed or whatever, to have such an event occur on our doorstep or anywhere is humbling and shocking. We hope we can do something to help out, will work on it, the response of the Australian govt and people has been amazing, if you have donated good on you, and if you haven&rsquot please do.
In other less depressing news, we had a great couple of shows to end the year, thanks to those of you who came to the shows in Mandurah and apologies to those of you who couldn&rsquot get in to the all ages. Thanks to to the Peel Music Foundation and Players Bar for being champs and looking after us. Was great to play at Gloucester Park again, always fun and always a huge crowd so it was a good end to a good year.
We enjoyed those shows so much we thought we would announce some more. We are in fact stoked to announce a couple of Victorian shows including a little acoustic set at the Australian Open. The Pooh better still be in there when we play or Vanessa will be pissed. We are also playing in Geelong on Thu 20th and a special Melbourne show at Ding Dong on the 21st, and are blessed by having our mates Betchadupa play with us at those gigs, should be a cracker. Better get your Ding Dong tickets quick I reckon. We are also playing a free entry all ages show on Australia Day in Perth so no excuses kids.
Now, our old fave the Triple J Hottest 100 is on again, and like every other band in the country we would appreciate your vote! There are a couple of Jebediah songs on the list, so head over to http://www.triplej.abc.net.au/hottest100/vote/default.htm and hook a brother (and sister!) up. We want to get on the CD this year! Vote for some other good aussie rock while you are at it.
The Jebediah webstore seems to actually be working well, couple of teething troubles but all is well, we willl work on getting a lot more merch up there in the coming weeks, as well as a few other bits n pieces. Hope all is well, more soon.
01-03-2005 13:07:40 :: Hello to Japan!
Hello there folks. Exciting times here at camp Jeb. I know, you think we have been sitting on our hands and occasionally flitting across the country to play a festival or at the Tennis or something. Well you are kinda right, but we have been really busy working on getting our music to people outside of Australia, using some of that freedom we talked about in interviews for the album in Australia. Well we are pleased to announce that we have signed a deal in Japan for the release of "Braxton Hicks". The album will out on the 6th of April through the wonderful Fabtone Records, who we are as pleased as punch to sign on the line with. "Braxton Hicks" will have two bonus tracks and new artwork, and will be coming out in a jewel case not the Digipack like Australia. We will have more release details in the coming weeks, but in the meantime you can pre-order the album at Tower Records and HMV in Japan. We will be working on a tour as well, but that won&rsquot be for a little while. We are also working on a South American release but more news on that later.
We have also announced some dates in Collie, Margaret River and we are also playin at YAK it up in Melville on the same weekend. Full details will be up on the site by the end of the day. They are the last scheduled shows for the moment, but that may change sooner than you think! We are playing in Albany on the 26th March at well with Spiderbait and Downsyde for a small festival.
Hope all is well, more good news soon!
04-04-2005 01:39:25 :: Braxton Hicks in Japan
Hello there people.
Just a quick update for y&rsquoall. Firstly thanks to all of you that came out to the last run of shows we did, big props to the Newport crowd for being so ready to rock, was great to play to so many kids at Yak it Up too so thanks to the people that helped put that one on, Melville YAC included!
We are very excited that our album comes out in Japan this Wed the 6th April, through Fabtone Records. All seems to be going well, interviews have happened, video&rsquos are being played on MTV and it&rsquos all rolling along. We are working on dates as we speak, so bear with us, it will happen! We are also stoked and somewhat bemused by the fact that the online store is helping spread the Jeb love (and threads!) throughout the globe, this week alone we have sent orders out to the UK, Japan and Morocco!
We are planning some interesting stuff for Australia around the middle of the year as well, so stay tuned. More news soon.
20-04-2005 18:52:35 :: Japanese Airplay - some technical notes
Hi there people, hope all is well. Well, our album seems to be doing well in Japan, and the good folk at MTV Japan have seen fit to start playing both the First Time and No Sleep video clips. We think this is bloody good of them, and we raise our glass in their direction. For proof of this oustanding turn of events visit http://www.mtvjapan.com/onair/playlist.html we are in some interesting company. There is also a link to our Japanese label Fabtone in the links section now, go and check them out, we think they rule.
In other news we are working on some technical issues on the message board over this Anzac long weekend, so post yer little lives away tonight as you won&rsquot be able to do it until Tuesday.
Oh yeah, we have been writing some new songs and they rule. Stay well.
11-05-2005 11:17:35 :: 10 Years - Holy Mackeral Batman!!!
Hi there peeps.
Just a quick update before we do a larger one next week. We turned 10 years old as a band last week. Yes m&rsquoam, it&rsquos been a long road since the Leeming High School ball, but we are feeling very lucky to still be able to be in this band and do what we do. To celebrate we are planning on not only touring, but doing a release around the tour and occasion as well. It&rsquos in the final planning stages now, and we will be gracing the wonderful Blackbird Studio&rsquos in Perth next week tracking some stuff for the release. More news on that as it all unroll&rsquos. And yes we will be visiting every state, and yes we will be doing some all ages shows. Stay tuned.
In other news we did a mildly hungover cover of "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head" for Like a Version on JJJ last year, and they must have liked it as they have put it on the "Like a Version" CD which is released this week. It&rsquos actually a pretty awesome CD, so check it out. Details of the release will be in the discography soon. Big Heavy Stuff&rsquos version of Bjork&rsquos "Hyperballad" is amazing. More news soon.
19-05-2005 20:13:22 :: 10th Anniversary Tour!
Hi there folks. Well, the time is upon us, As mentioned before we are going to go on tour to celebrate our coming of age. It&rsquos been 10 years since the Leeming High School ball, and we are getting long in the tooth mate! Anyhoo, rather than sit at home and sulk about not being teenagers anymore we thought we would head out and deafen some. Tour dates are up, we are taking good mates Red Jezebel and new friends Neon out for most of the shows, and are we ever going to show you a good time. We are also playing Under 18 shows for the Live and Local Sessions which is awesome, it&rsquos good to get the chance to play to some folk who are at least partly sober!
We are also going to let you lot make some decisions about what we play on the tour. Go to the message board (register to post) and Kev has made a forum all of his own to take requests for the tour. If we are coming to your town then let us know what rarity you want to hear. Something you have never heard live, something you really want to hear, anything except Leaving Home really. Ahaaaaaa, gotya! Anyway, tap away and let us know what you want.
More news on the release to go with the tour next week, we are in the studio now which at least keeps us out of the rain.....
Rock on. Jebs.
08-06-2005 02:51:15 :: "Anniversary EP" details up, shows added in Perth and Toowoomba
Hello good folk of the internet. A brief update to let you know a couple of things. Firstly we would like to thank everyone who has been requesting songs on the forum, it&rsquos been an awesome and somewhat daunting response so far. We have been locked in a rehearsal room with a boombox so you will have to wait and see what comes! If you haven&rsquot made a request yet please do as we only have a couple of rehearsals left. Not that you lot have missed many songs!
In other news the details of the Anniversary EP are in the discography now, so you can check out what is to come. We will throw up a sample or two in the coming days. we had to wait to get the OK to re-record some old songs hence the delay in details. The EP rules, just quietly, thanks to Parko and his Dad, Jack the Bear and "the other Rinaldi" for their help with making it happen.
We have also added shows in Toowoomba and a Under 18&rsquos show in Perth, details are in the tour dates section. See you all soon!
17-06-2005 14:31:26 :: Jebs on Rove!!!
Hello there peeps from the streets. Yeah, whatever. OK, do we sound cool yet? This is a short announcement. If you are an idiot and have not yet purchased your ticket for the rock and roll show by a band called Jebediah don&rsquot despair. You can still get tickets for most shows (I think the Annandale is sold out now though) but you also can sit your ass on the couch on Tuesday night, popcorn in one hand and carbonated bevvie in the other and watch us rock out for 4 minutes. Yep. we will be on the logie endorsed Rove Live on tuesday night, settle in, don&rsquot touch that remote and enjoy. We hope they have stocked the green room well.
27-06-2005 15:28:59 :: Jebediah Sell Out!
Hello kind folk of the internerd. Just a quick update from the road, in the interests of customer service. Firstly, thanks to all of you for helping make our 10th Anniversary tour a success and a hell of a good time. Crowds have been great, and it&rsquos been a blast playing to a bunch of people that are so up for a rock show, we raise our glass to you! Special mention must go to the crowd at the Espy, who were quite frankly, nuts!
On another note, this weeks shows are looking to be just as fun with both the Northcote Social Club and the Hobart shows now sold out. If you are planning on coming to the Perth gigs please get your tickets soon.
See you there!
09-08-2005 02:12:27 :: Good Evening, or morning in fact.
Hi there. We have been a bit quiet on Hotel Motel of late, but everyone was so shagged after the ridiculous schedule / amount of fun which was involved in the 10th anniversary tour that we needed a bit of a breather. There won&rsquot be much happening in the way of shows for awhile, as there are a few other things to be concentrated on, but Craig our long suffering ruler of the internerd (seriously, he was a slip of a lad when he started Hotel Motel and now they have been letting him into pubs for years!) has dug up some old designs to amuse you, and will probably be inserting a link into this news item before you even get to read this. So click and marvel, or giggle, or shed a tear at designs gone by.
We will be using the downtime to do a bit of housekeeping on the website, so keep an eye out for a few changes.
Stay well. And thanks for coming out and rocking on the 10th Anniversary tour, getting older has never been so much fun!
Team Jeb
07-12-2005 04:40:47 :: What&rsquos been going on then?
Well, truth to be told, not a lot! Team Jebediah has been enjoying long service leave, well of a sort. Given the fact that we finished our 10 year anniversary tour we decided that it was time we took a little time off from the band, so that&rsquos pretty much been it. Kevin has been off overseas doing a Bob Evans album and playing shows, you can read all about his adventures on www.bobevans.com.au (hell you can even go and see him if you are in London this weekend details on his site) and everyone else is kicking it OG style in various parts of WA, working on their tans or just working. Vanessa has sorted out how to do both, so props to her. There are no plans for shows at the moment but Kevin is back mid Feb so who knows after that. Don&rsquot stress, the band is still a going concern (thanks for the emails!) but everyone needs a rest occasionally.
You may have noticed that the merch has gradually been updated, the store isn&rsquot active at the moment but that will change in the next week or two when our management finally move into new premises and all those boxes of t-shirts go with them. We will be putting a bunch of none clothing related merch up soon as well, but it will be a gradual process so bear with us. In the meantime we might tool around with a few more things on the site, or start a myspace page so you can all pretend to be our friends and we can take out of focus shots of us with our hair in our eyes. Will let you know more when there is more to know, in the meantime enjoy summer we know we will be! Well, except for Kev, but that&rsquos what happens when you choose the northern hemisphere this time of year!
Stay well!
How are we all? It&rsquos been a wierd week or two huh?
